The best buildings in Mendip will be recognised at an awards presentation this month.

Mendip District Council's annual Built In Quality Awards cover a variety of categories, rewarding everything from new buildings and extensions to community projects and project management.

This is the third event of its kind hosted by Mendip's building control team.

The awards are aimed at recognising and rewarding projects built to the highest standards of design, workmanship and project management during the past year.

Mendip's portfolio holder for built environment, Cllr Nigel Woollcombe- Adams, said: "The awards provide a chance for us to recognise the excellent work undertaken in the district by developers, businesses and private individuals, all of whom build and manage projects to the highest standard."

The Mendip award winners will go through to regional finals, where they will be in with a chance of competing for national titles recognising the best buildings in the country.
