Dog lovers who bought puppies from Priddy Sheep Fair in Somerset are being warned that their new pets could have a lethal virus.

Vets at the Axe Valley Veterinary Practice in Wells have recently diagnosed a case of Parvovirus in a puppy brought to their surgery.

The eight-week-old Lurcher-cross puppy was brought in to the surgery vomiting and with diarrhoea and in a very poor physical condition. He had been acquired free of charge from someone at Priddy fair on Wednesday, August 18, who had a litter of puppies they were giving away.
