Prize for top Spot the Object competitors in Frome
A SPOT the Object competition organised by Frome Carnival and sponsored by the Frome Standard has been won by Frome grandmother Marion Barnes and her husband David.
The couple, of Monmouth Drive, enlisted the help of their two granddaughters, 17-year-old Eleanor Barnes and Lucy Daymon-John, 23, to spot the odd object in the windows of 65 shops.
Out of the 65, the Barnes family spotted 57 random objects which included an eye patch, a fossil, clothes pegs and a screw driver.
One of the objects which baffled Mrs Barnes was what looked like a string of sausages which was actually a pile of fig rolls in the window of Moore and Toop in Christchurch Street West.
The couple won £50 prize money given by the Standard which they will be sharing with their grand- daughters.
