Preparing for the Blackberry Fayre
SAVE the date for Axbridge's busiest day on the road through town.
The Blackberry Fayre can be found recorded in many history books, traditionally held mid-September when the berries were collected locally.
The colourful vision is also a great excuse for Axbridge's many clubs and societies to stage their own little Mardi Gras.
Floats of all shapes and sizes will trundle down West and High streets into the square before exiting the other side, along with wacky walking entries.

Silver cups and shields are awarded to the successful winners and competition is fierce.
It is the highlight of the year for the Blackberry Carnival Queen and Princesses who have their own float.
The fair also attracts lots of bling with visiting mayors of Somerset coming to see the show in their robes and chains of office, before sitting down for the Mayor of Axbridge's annual lunch in the town hall.
The town trust also puts on fun fair amusements in the square for the entire weekend.
Blackberry Fayre is this Saturday, at 2pm. This year's theme is Movie Mania.
