The villagers of Blackford, near Wedmore, are putting on the pantomime Hickory Dickory Dock.

As well as promising to be a night filled with of riotous adventure, hilarious jokes and some stunning costumes, the production will also be raising money for the Blackford Village Hall Rebuild Project.

In a madcap race against time, the show opens with Penniless Dame Foxtrot owing rent to the hardhearted Baron Hickory.

What she doesn't realise is that her grandfather clock is magical and that locked up inside it is a wicked imp.

If the clock ever strikes one, the imp will escape and destroy Fairyland.

How will the irrepressible dame, and her beautiful daughter Mary, together with the gipsy boy David, a bunch of foolish villagers and some dancing punk fairies to save Fairyland?

Will Mary find her true love? Will the evil Wizard go up in smoke? Will Baron Hickory and his henchmen get their just deserts and what will happen when the clock strikes one?

There's only one way to find out, get to the Blackford Village Hall tonight, tomorrow or Saturday at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £5 and are available from Karen Derrick on 01934 713633.

There will also be a licensed bar.
