Wells Journal

Re: article headlined "Social history comes to light in archives hunt", Wells Journal, November 1, and Colin Cohen's subsequent letter.

Sadly the piece of TH Saunders paper that forms the indenture of Jonas Albert Hill, in 1911, wasn't made locally at St Cuthberts Mill. By the time the mill purchased the rights to produce the paper in 1959 (via Wookey Hole), TH Saunders was a watercolour paper. TH Saunders was re-formulated in 1985 and is now known as Saunders Waterford. We have a Paint Your Own Postcard competition running using this paper. If you'd like to collect a free competition postcard, visit Swan Stationery, the Alchemy of Colour or Wells Library.
