“I DON'T agree with legalizing cannabis and have my reasons for believing that but anyone can see this kind of raid is just a perfect example of our taxes and Police Officers on the ground being wasted and is just a total waste of time and money.
8 Plants is a joke, the person will end up at the magistrates court after ALOT of paperwork and man power by the Police, CPS, Probation Service and then of course the magistrates themselves, and the home gardener will get a 6 month probation order (more tax payers money) at most some community service (which I have never seen make a difference any where) and is most likely to walk with a Conditional Discharge or Even nothing but a caution if the CPS decide its not worth pursuing (which in this case is highly likely).

Here in Wells and this whole area is loaded with small self grow operations like this one, its always going to pop back up in someone else's house before the case gets to court (if it does)
Please stop wasting time and police man hours raiding pot growers who are just growing small amounts to sell to friends to cover their own use and go after the ones who have converted lofts to grow 50-100 plants for much more serious distribution or even better spend that fortune you are wasting on better intelligence gathering and undercover ops to go after the smack and crack dealers that are all over towns like Yeovil and Taunton peddling their filth to users who will rob your house or rob your gran at the cash point without blinking to pay for the next hit!”

“What an appalling waste of police time and my tax. Have they really got nothing better to do than harass people doing a bit of creative gardening in their own home, doing no harm to anyone. Meanwhile muggers, rapists, drunk drivers, burglars, illegal immigrants and, in Somerset especially, farm crime, which is at an all time high, carry on with impunity knowing that the police prefer soft targets to improve their 'detection' rates. GW Pharma have a licence to grow 60,000 cannabis plants at any one time with generous tax breaks and security provided from the public purse. Let harmless home growers have a licence too and this 'problem' will go away.”

“I am sure every tax payer is happy with Police being wasted on things like that.

Is UK police now private organised crime's army? 8 plants seem to be a personal amount, so he was not paying dealers a penny and that might upset a lot of people.

People growing for their own needs deprive dealers of their profits and bankers have less money to launder.

If i was a dealer and a client of mine suddenly stopped buying i would surely call the police, because i would suspect he grows his own and police would take care of that for me free of charge.”

“8 plants? What a waste of our precious policing resources. Disgraceful. Legalise, regulate and tax cannabis. It's a much safer, more intelligent and cost -effective idea.”
