Police probe after ‘missile’ thrown from bridge over A371
Police are hunting for a vandal who threw a missile from a road bridge and damaged a passing tractor.
The incident happened on the A371 at Locking at around 6.30pm on January 28 when something was thrown from the bridge over the road.

The unidentified missile hit a tractor, damaging its rear light, but luckily the farmer who was driving the tractor escaped without injury.
Police are treating the incident as criminal damage to a vehicle with intent to endanger life.
They believe that as a result of the actions of the suspect, serious injury could have been caused during the incident.
officers say that the male culprit was described as a slightly built man, in his teens. They said he was reported to have been wearing a distinctive black and red lumberjack-type shirt.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at time of the incident, or from anyone who may recognise the description of the youth.

“This type of dangerous behaviour is really worrying. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets concerned every time I drive under a motorway bridge and see kids hanging around on the top of it.”

“This is very frightening & dangerous.
During the miner's strike, when this was going on, my car windscreen was hit, fortunately it was not broken unlike another who was killed.”
