A huge excavator bucket has been stolen in West Somerset and police want the public’s help to find it.

It was taken from an embankment near the former mineral rail line bridge at Watchet between Wednesday, January 25, and Friday, January 27. It was dragged from atop a four-foot heap of ballast, across the line and through a fence.

Police say a vehicle must have been used and want to hear from the driver of what was believed to be a red Land Rover.
