Police arrest man who absconded from prison

POLICE have arrested a man who absconded from a prison in Lincolnshire and allegedly attempted to burgle a house in Somerton.

Police said John Loveridge, 28, absconded from HMP North Sea Camp on Monday, February 11.

He is alleged to have stolen a car and attempted to burgle a house on Cedar Grove in Somerton as he was passing through the area on February 17.

Sergeant Rob Jameson, of Somerton Police Station, said Loveridge was arrested on Monday, March 11, in Northamptonshire.

The arrest follows an appeal from police to find him last week, when officers released several images of him.

He has been charged with six offences, including the attempted burglary in Somerton.
