Playschemes give children fun summer
A fun time was had by all at the Whisty summer playschemes in Radstock.
Children enjoyed a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games and sports, cookery and dressing up.
They were also encouraged to develop independent life skills through helping to prepare their own snacks and drinks with support from play scheme staff Kim-Marie Edgell and Polly Champion Smith and volunteers.
The children enjoyed playing with table tennis equipment bought with funding from councillor Lesley Mansell's allowance as chairwoman of Radstock Town Council.
Kim-Marie said: "Our summer playscheme has been a great success. The children have had lots of fun and made new friends. It has been very rewarding for Polly and me to work with the children and see them build new friendships and confidence."
The playscheme will return during the February half term holidays on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-noon.
