And Boon Brown Architects have requested planning permission for 23 houses at land to the south of Chapel Fields at Hayes End.
The plans include a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses, with around eight dwellings available as affordable housing.
The development is hoped to be an extension on the 19 homes that are currently being built on Chapel Fields by a different developer, Wyatt Homes.
A public consultation was held in November, during which there was generally no opposition to the proposals.
Matt Frost, planning consultant for Boon Brown Architects, said volume of traffic coming into the town was the only issue raised.
But he said they would be working closely with the Highways department to ensure the volume of traffic was controlled.
He added that the plans include 63 parking spaces meaning the development should not put a strain on parking provision in the village.
The proposed development is set to include links to the community woodland next to the town cemetery.
