Pixar preview of family film to raise funds for children's charity

Frome Festival will be playing host to a special Children's charity film preview of the exciting new Pixar animated adventure UP, more than three months before its general release.

The story follows 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen who, by tying thousands of balloon to his home, sets out to fulfil his lifelong dream.

As a youngster, Carl met a young spirited girl named Ellie who shared his dream of going to a Lost Land in South America.

Seventy years later, Ellie has died and Carl remembers the promise he made to her.

When he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home.

But before they can take him, he and his house fly away.

Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey.

An eight year old boy named Russell, who is trying to get an assisting the elderly badge, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.

Together, they embark on an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.

Characters are voiced by Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger and Edward Asner.

Presented by FilmFrome, with thanks to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures UK, UP will be screened at the Westway Cinema today at 5pm.
