Throughout the weekend, the town hall played host to the Faerie Fayres, where traders sold pixie ears, fairy artwork, intricate jewellery and clothing suitable for the most discerning fairy.

A series of workshops were also available, including a wing workshop, fairy boot painting and fairy craft.

On Saturday night the hall was filled to bursting for a grand ball, with fairies donning their finery for an evening of music and partying, with medieval folk-rockers The Dolmen providing the tunes.

The event was organised in conjunction with Faeries And Enchantment Magazine.

Ms Kay says she has had a strong connection to the fairy realms from a very young age, and was introduced to the essence of the flower fairies by her grandmother, who was an avid gardener and lover of flowers, especially roses.

She has been organising and running Mystic Fayres and Faery events since 1994, and has hosted a number of successful events in Glastonbury.

“We always look forward to coming to Glastonbury, and I just can’t wait to come back next year,” she said.

“It’s so lovely to see everybody dressing up and having fun.

“It’s good for the town too. The shopkeepers told me they were getting a lot of extra customers and the hotels and B&Bs were booked out by fairies.

“The daytime Faerie Fayre at Glastonbury Town Hall was busy both Saturday and Sunday too.

“There was lots of arts and crafts for all the family to enjoy and wings, wands and tiaras galore.”
