Phantom trio celebrate songs from the West End stage
It will be a homecoming show for the multi-talented Glyn Kerslake when the Three Phantoms musical theatre gala arrives at Torquay's Princess Theatre next week.
Raised in Torbay, where his family still live, Glyn cut his teeth in local amateur musical societies before training in London.
He now has more than 25 years' experience as a professional musician, composer and actor. His theatre credits include Merrily We Roll Along, With a Song in My Heart, The Odd Couple,Martin Guerre, Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Treasure Island, and The Sound of Music to name but a few.
Glyn is one of the trio in this touring show – with Matthew Cammelle and Stephen John Davis – who have, like him, played the title role in the globally celebrated musical The Phantom of the Opera.

The popular songs from this show feature in Three Phantoms, alongside numbers from other musicals, including Les Miserables, West Side Story, Spamalot, Kiss Me Kate, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Rock Of Ages and Wicked. Glyn, Matthew and Stephen will also sing songs from various other adaptations of the story that inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber to write his incredibly evocative Phantom score.
The trio promise a real treat for musical theatre fans – and Phantom enthusiasts in particular – with revelations offering unique backstage insights.
The heart-stirring Three Phantoms has already performed to more than 30,000 people over the past two years and has been critically-acclaimed by the public and media. What seems to make it so successful is a commitment to top West End standard.
Matthew Cammelle's professional debut was as Brad in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed by the part of Marius in Les Miserables in the West End. He has also appeared in Follies, South Pacific, Beauty and the Beast and the international tour of Mamma Mia.
Stephen John Davis's musical theatre credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar and South Pacific. For D'Oyly Carte Opera Company he has appeared in HMS Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance.
No Phantom would be complete without his Christine and the trio are joined by international musical and opera star Rebecca Caine. She originated the role of Cosette in the Cameron Mackintosh and RSC production of Les Miserables and was in the original cast of The Phantom of the Opera, as well as its Canadian premiere, alongside Colm Wilkinson.
These first-class performers benefit from the masterful accompaniment of Anthony Gabriele, former music director of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre and of the UK touring production, as well as Annette Yeo, Mandy Watsham Dunstall and Alistair Barron.
Three Phantoms is at the Princess Theatre, Torquay on October 12 and 13.
