Perverting justice trial date fixed

A WOMAN from Highbridge faces trial charged with perverting the course of justice following the death of Burnham man George Lawson.

Debbi Huxtable, 27, of Southwell Crescent, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 18.

Her case was committed to Taunton Crown Court on Friday, March 5.

The body of Mr Lawson, 20, was found at an Abingdon Street flat on Christmas Eve.

Adam Lapthorne, 23, of Burnham, was charged with the murder and will reappear before Exeter Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on April 12.

His trial starts on August 2.
