Pupils of Jasmine and Poppy classes at Trinity First School, Frome, could not believe their eyes when a time traveller strolled into their classroom.

The children have been studying the Great Fire of London and were amazed to meet Samuel Pepys.

Mr Pepys (Steve Mynard) told them what it was like during the blaze and answered their questions such as why was he wearing a wig and why did he bury his cheese and wine in his garden during the fire?

Mr Pepys was interested to find out that all children went to school in 2012 and that people do not write with quills any more.
