Peppershells Hill in Compton Dando offers challenge to Pensford 10k competitors
The new committee of the Pensford 10k have challenged local runners to take on the demanding race next month.
Peppershells Hill in Compton Dando is just one of the challenges of the event, which is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year.

“It’s a hill. Get over it,” said a spokesperson for the committee. “Can you take on the mighty Peppershells?”
Former committee member Peter Clouting added: “The thrill of conquering the infamous Peppershells Hill is worth the entrance fee alone.”

The race, a BARR gold standard event, will take place on Sunday, April 28, starting at 1pm from Pensford Memorial Hall playing fields. The roads will be closed and free on-site parking is available.
Runners will be chip timed and there are cash prizes for several age categories, while every finisher will receive a medal. Advance entries cost £11 for club members and £13 for unattached runners, with an extra £1 charged for entry on the day.
After the main event, a 4km fun run for parents and children will get under way at 3pm, organised by the Pensford School Association, who will also provide refreshments. Entry to the fun run costs £2.50 for an individual or £6 for a family, which is payable on the day.
