People invited to decorate trees to be best of British
ST Bartholomew's Church, in Crewkerne, is encouraging residents and organisations to be part of its Christmas tree festival.
The church said arrangements are well under way for this year's event, which will be held in the church from Friday, December 14, until Saturday, December 22.
This will be the third year the festival has been held and it is hoped it will now become an annual event.
Last year there were 45 trees all decorated by different organisations.

This year it is hoped that there will be at least 50 different trees.
Festival organiser Vivienne Stuckey is hoping organisations will decorate their trees around a theme of the Best of British.
She said: "With this year being the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and with the holding of the Olympics and Paralympics here in Britain, it might be good to celebrate the year we have just experienced.
"But the theme is not compulsory and trees can still be dressed in whatever way people wish."
This year there will be a refreshment area in the church serving teas, coffees, soft drinks, cakes and biscuits. There will also be a craft stall where people can buy festive gifts.
Entrance to the festival is free but visitors can judge the trees for a fee of 50p.
Last year the pupils of Ashlands First School were overwhelmingly voted first in the children's category, while the Crewkerne Bellringers were voted first in the adult category.
Proceeds raised from the festival will go towards church funds to help with general maintenance and heating.

St Bartholomew's Church will celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Book of Common Prayer on Sunday, October 14, with help from its traditional robed choir.
Stephen Curtis, from the church, said: "St Bartholomew's Church itself is unusual in that it retains a traditional robed choir.
"Its 18-strong members will lead the second service at 6pm.
"This will be preceded by a service at 10am. It will consist of Holy Communion as normal but will follow the 1662 version of the service."
