Paying tribute to the great and the good of the past
Fancy a blast of Led Zeppelin's finest rock tracks, a reminder of the sweet sounds created by Karen Carpenter, or a trip down memory lane in the spirit of Elvis or Johnny Cash?
These are the experiences in store with the feast of tribute shows booked to appear at The Brewhouse in Taunton this month.
On January 24 Hats Off To Led Zeppelin will be travelling back in time to the heyday of one of Britain's greatest rock acts. A quartet of world-class musicians – Peter Eldridge, Jack Tanner, Kevin Oliver Jones and Simon Wicker – combine their talents to hit all the right notes on stage.
They are even managed by Warren Grant, the son of Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant, who said after seeing them live: "You guys really did the band justice."

The Johnny Cash Road Show, heading to the Brewhouse on January 26, celebrates the music of one of America's greatest musicians. The only tribute that has been endorsed by Johnny Cash's family, it features Clive John as the Man In Black (pictured above) and a full band.
The show goes way back to Johnny's first hits in the 1950s and right up to his final days, capturing the essence of the man and his music with precision and flair, set against a visual backdrop of evocative images and clips from his lifetime.
One Night Of Elvis will be shaking up audiences in a tribute to the king on January 30. In this brand new show for 2013, Europe's most successful Elvis Presley tribute artist, Lee Memphis King (above), presents a show celebrating the entire career of the musical legend. Lee aims to bring the majesty of Elvis's voice and the electrifying power of his performance back to life with an accomplished band and big-screen projections.
Voice Of The Heart, coming to the venue on January 31, is a two-hour show revisiting the hits of one of the world's most popular duos, The Carpenters. Close To You, Yesterday Once More, Goodbye To Love, Top Of The World and Jambalaya are some of the tracks guaranteed to wind back the years. The production is masterminded by Carole Gordon – who recreates the velvet tones of Karen Carpenter – and partner Bob Newman, the couple behind the musical Forever In Blue Jeans.
