Paulton Rovers roar to cup victory over Chippenham Town
A strong Paulton Rovers comfortably overcame a Chippenham Town side containing a mixture of first team and youth 3-0 in the Red Insure Cup last night.
More concern to Chippenham will be a ninth minute groin injury to striker Lee Phillips that casts doubts over his fitness for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Gloucester City.
Paulton opened the scoring on 20 minutes when James Billings turned in a cross from the right. They doubled their advantage thirteen minutes later when Ben Osman rifled home a cross from Charlie Rich.
Chippenham’s Ben Wickens forced a save from Kyle Phillips and Luke Ballinger just failed to make connection with Tyrone Mings’ goal line cross.

Nine minutes from time Paulton wasted a chance to increase their lead when Craig Loxton’s penalty was saved by Ben John, but a minute later Dan Cleverley headed home from a free-kick.
