Motorists who parked in a residential street in Yeovil were the victims of a practical joke, locals said.

Around a dozen drivers who parked in Southville overnight last Thursday found what looked like parking tickets sealed in a cellophane wrapper on windscreens.

Residents said the tickets – which turned out to be blank – were probably a prank but there was a serious point to be made about parking problems in the area.
