Two visually-impaired members of Frome Judo Club have moved a step closer to their goal of competing at the 2016 Paralympics after becoming black belts.

Anthony Quant and Liam Harkness travelled to The Budokwai in London, where judo in Britain began, to complete their grading.

Competing against fully- sighted opposition, Quant defeated five players in succession to gain the competitive points he needed, with Harkness having already gained his points through other gradings and mainstream competitions.

Both then had to go through a technical examination of their judo knowledge and passed the test with the highest marks of the day to secure their black belts.
