Packing out the picnic in the park
Manor Gardens in Burnham were alive to the sound of music on Sunday and the summer sunshine saw a huge crowd pack out the grass for the annual Picnic in the Park.
The ice cream and the ale were in big demand as the crowd enjoyed bluegrass from The Waysiders, a popular band who kicked off the free event, and The Cherry Pickers with a toe-tapping selection of bluegrass, jazz and country.

Ron Trueman Border produced some fine travelling folk. Local covers band Snappa were so impressive they attracted interest from a management company which offered them a deal on the spot and the show was wrapped up by the big band sounds of Boulevard Swing.
The show was run by the Cultural Arts Development Society which organises concerts and events in Burnham and Highbridge over the summer.
