Open day at Shepton Vets
SHEPTON Vets held an open day last week, inviting the public to see their new facilities.
The practice, in Allyn Saxon Drive, has recently redeveloped and rebranded, and members of staff were keen to show local pet owners what goes on behind the consulting room door.
Children had the chance to dress in sterile operating clothes, practice using a dental machine and perform an ultrasound scan of a balloon containing pasta.
There were balloons, inflatable creepy-crawlies, face painting and cakes.
An imaginative twist on the classic lucky dip involving a pretend cow and a long-sleeved glove also proved popular.

Martin Law, practice director at Shepton Vets, said: “It’s great to be able to spend time talking to our clients and other pet owners and show them what happens at the vets.
“All the staff here are really proud of our facilities, especially after the redevelopment.
“It’s been a long six months while the work has been going on and it’s meant a lot of disruption for our clients, as well as our neighbours, so today has felt like a real celebration.”
