Online petition for river dredging to combat Somerset Levels flooding gets 1,000 signatures
An online petition calling for dredging to stop flooding on the Somerset Levels has attracted more than 1,000 signatures.
The ‘Stop the Flooding on the Somerset Levels’ petition was begun by Andrew Lee, of Langport, on the Government e-petition website.

Months of flooding of farmland and roads has led to major continuing costs to farmers and other businesses. Petitions that secure 100,000 signatures may be debated in Parliament.
