The Olympics come to Wedmore when the New Inn holds its family fun day and barbecue on August bank holiday weekend.

Proceeds from the Wedmore Olympics, to be held on Sunday, August 30, at The New Inn, will go to local worthy causes.

From 2pm visitors can test their mettle in the tiddlywinks high jump, human hoopla, slinky hurdles or the pickled egg race, to name but a few of the challenges.

Entry costs £5 per team of four.

Competitors who work up a thirst can cool off afterwards at the cider promotion – 20p of every pint will go to charity.
