A club spokesperson said: "He has become a valued and respected member of the teaching team and is equally at ease whether teaching five-year-old beginners or coaching the 11-and-under and 13-and-under competition squads.
"He is an exemplary swimmer himself, for which he has the respect and admiration of the other members of the squad, particularly the younger swimmers, who look up to him as a role model.

"With a desire to widen his aquatic knowledge, Liam applied to join an ASA SW Aquaforce Volunteer Programme and was one of only 20 young adults to be selected from across the South West region."
Over the past few months, Willcox has successfully completed his Judge Level 1 qualification, making him the youngest official in the South West.
He has also been selected to take part in the ASA Young Coaches Programme, gaining one of only 200 places available across the country, and in October will be taking his Level 1 in Teaching Aquatics. As well as all this, he has also completed his GCSE studies.
