Nominations celebrate a wealth of stage talent
Nominations in the David Beach Awards for amateur musicals produced in Somerset have been announced.
Several groups and productions from mid-Somerset have been nominated in many of the 25 categories.

Cary Amateur Theatrical Society's production of Guys And Dolls received nominations for best effects for the sewer scene, best costumes not hired, for the Challenge Trophy and Roger Bull, Charlotte Head and Sarah Kerrigan have named for best choreography.
Benham Academy of Dance's production of Annie has been nominated for best costumes not hired, showstopper for Hard Knock Life, best youth production, for the Challenge Trophy and The Orphans have been nominated for the Adjudicators' Award.

In the Best Youth aged 17 to 21 male category Max Nicholson-Lailey, aged 17, was nominated for his portrayal of Daddy Warbucks in Annie.
Polden Musical Youth received a number of nominations for their production of Summer Holiday including best set not hired, the Challenge Trophy, best youth production and the small venue trophy.
Kate Brayley, aged 16, as Stella in Summer Holiday was nominated in the Best Youth 16 and under female group and in the male group Josh Lewis, aged 15, was nominated for his portrayal of Steve.
Wells Little Theatre has two productions in the running with nominations for both The Sound Of Music and A Little Night Music.
For The Sound Of Music, Judi Neale received a nomination in the best female in a supporting role for her Elsa, The Nuns received a nod in the best chorus category and The Von Trapp children were named in the Adjudicators' Award.
A Little Night Music received nominations for best sound, best musical direction for Sheila Ross, Phoebe Lynch, aged 13, was nominated in the best youth 16 and under female group for her portrayal of Frederika, James Sutton aged 17 was named in the best youth 17 to 21 group for his performance as Henrik and Kate Lynch was named in the best female in a lead role for her performance as Desiree Armfeldt.
However, in the best creative lighting section both Wells productions – The Sound Of Music and A Little Night Music – have been nominated.
This year's awards evening is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 9, at Somerset Cricket Club, in Taunton.
