Nigella Lawson dress from Frome's Deadly is the Female boutique causes worldwide sensation
A dress worn by cooking goddess Nigella Lawson and supplied by a vintage-inspired boutique in Frome has caused a worldwide sensation.
Owner of Deadly is the Female, Claudia Kapp, 31, has sold out of the red frock known as the wiggle dress twice.
Ms Kapp has been inundated with orders after Nigella wore the £175-dress on American television that she bought from the shop’s website.
The switchboard at the ABC network, which aired Nigella’s new cookery show, was inundated with calls from viewers wanting to know where they could buy the dress. Nigella then tweeted the shop’s name to her 300,000 Twitter followers. Since then Ms Kapp has been flooded with inquiries.

Ms Kapp, who has been trading in Catherine Hill for over four years, said: “We have had so much interest that the website crashed at one stage. It is up and running now and we are taking pre-orders for the dress. The response has been brilliant.”
Nigella first wore the dress for a Radio Times photo shoot in September and loved it so much has since bought another four.
