New Ilminster Town manager in a positive mood after unbeaten start
ILMINSTER Town had to settle for a point against Ashton and Backwell United after the away side scored a late equaliser.
Alex Paul had put the Blues ahead in the fifth minute and it looked as though they would claim all three points, only for a deflected cross to be headed in at the far post in the last minute.
Ilminster are currently 11th in the Somerset County League Premier Division with two wins from their first seven games. Former reserve team boss Rob Sutton took over the hot seat from chairman Darren Manley four fixtures ago.
Sutton was frustrated to see his side let victory slip away but insisted he is not worried about the team's form.

He said: "We played really well and deserved three points from the game but we did not take our chances. They had not put us under any pressure really so it was pretty disappointing.
"I am not concerned at all. I have brought some new players into the side and we are looking settled as a team now. The only game we have lost since I have been in charge is against Nailsea (Nailsea Town 2 Ilminster Town 1) and we did not deserve to lose that one. As a team we have played some tough fixtures. I am happy with how it is going and we are feeling positive."
COMBE St Nicholas played out a goal-less draw at Portishead Town Reserves in Somerset County League Division Two West.
