Warning over rise in scam e-mails
DORSET police are warning people to beware of scam e-mails after an increase in reports of the crime.
The fake e-mails requesting money often claim to be from a person stranded abroad.
Dorset police strongly recommend the public do not reply to these e-mails.
Other email "phishing" scams urge people to send their bank details or call a premium telephone number.
If you believe you may have been a victim of fraud, Dorset police advises contacting the non-emergency number 101 as soon as possible.
