New classrooms added in £145k improvements at village school
The biggest primary school in the Bath and North East Somerset area has grown again.
Extra classroom space is being created at Peasedown St John Primary School, in a £145,000 improvement package.

In the last decade and a half, the school has grown from 150 pupils to more than 500 as new housing has been built alongside the village bypass.
Two additional classrooms are being provided in a former adult learning centre, between the school and Peasedown youth centre, which has been renamed The Annexe.

Norton Radstock College agreed to move its courses so that the school, which was rated as good at its last Ofsted inspection, could take over the building.
Councillor Sarah Bevan (Lib Dem, Peasedown) said: "It's extremely important that children from our village can attend their local primary school."
She said the £145,000 provided by B&NES Council was "much welcomed."
Mrs Bevan added: "It will provide essential extra classroom space so the school can continue to accommodate the growing number of children who choose to come here."
Fellow village councillor Nathan Hartley, said: "We were only too pleased to approve the funding for these extension works."
Mr Hartley said it was part of a package of capital investment in schools adding up to more than £3 million in the current financial year.
He added: "It's all part of our commitment to ensure that children have the best possible start in life and are well prepared for adult life."
