A solitary second-half strike from visiting Nailsea condemned Mid-Somerset to their first defeat of the season.
Forced into positional and personnel changes by a number of absences, a new-look Mids team started strongly, working the ball around well.
However, a goal was not forthcoming despite several chances and, as frustration started to set in, Mids' passing accuracy faltered as they began to lose their structure.

Nailsea went ahead in the second half following a goalmouth scramble, despite the desperate attempts of Elainna O'Teare and Hannah Finney to keep it out.
Mids' commitment could not be faulted and the forwards ran tirelessly in a bid to level the scores but the final touch or pass did not quite come off, while excellent defending kept them out.

A second-half double dashed Mid-Somerset's hopes of victory as Winscombe fought back to earn a point.
The visiting forwards pushed forward from the off, supported by the strong midfield of Hilary McNeill, Mary Dowds and Nicole French.
However, the home defence of Sarah Kempster, Jodie Honour, Tors Look and Emma Whitehead coped well with the onslaught and Mids broke the deadlock when Carly Dutton fired past Alice Tyler.
Winscombe attempted to hit back through Vicki Pagett, Roxy Newman and Shirley Hartshorne but they were confidently repelled, while keeper Soria Camille-Stallard pulled off several excellent saves.
Newcomer Jenny Weare and player of the match Lorna Wickham also worked tirelessly in the middle before Mids doubled their lead when Lambert hit the backboards after good work from French.
However, Newman gave the home side a lifeline just before half-time and Pagett rescued a point after Emma Whitehead had drilled the loose ball back into the D.
