Two students from Street have reason to celebrate after completing foundation degrees at Strode College.

James Higgins from Strode college has found work as a police community support officer after he got a foundation degree in managing in the public sector services.

''I always wanted to work for the police," he said.

"My uncle was a police sergeant and I did some work experience with him during my GCSEs.

"When I finished my A levels the police were recruiting and the degree seemed a step in the right direction''

Pete Missingham from Glastonbury has had his project accepted by the Imperial War Museum in London after completing a foundation degree in History, Archaeology, and Heritage.

He said: ''It started accidently when we were watching a film and I asked my mother in law what she did during the war.''

Mr Missingham graduated with a Distinction and is now studying a further year at Truro College In Cornwall to follow his Foundation Degree to a full archeology degree.
