Motorcross: Jason Hamblin and Tom Smith head to Hanham Mills
Jason Hamblin an Tom Smith, who were winners of the trial and enduro classes in last weekend’s North Somerset timed and observation trial at Chelwood, will both be seeking further success in the BSSA’s hour-long event at Hanham m Mills this evening.
They face stiff opposition from regular award winners Simon Prideaux, Ben and Stuart Sinclair, Tim and Jeremy Walters, Peter King and Andy and Harvey Dark.
Former Wessex Centre observation trial champion Colin Crease wants his title back and he aims to top the awards in the fourth round of the series being staged by the Frome club at Beaconsfield Farm, West Harptree, tomorrow.
Upwards of 60 are expected to contest a three or four lap event including Kurt Brain, who leads the current series, Gary Marshman, Rob and Tom Pike and Oliver Humphris.

British and non-modern bike aces from a wide area will be at Emborough Ponds near Chilcompton on the Mendips for the Bath Classic club’s trial over four laps of ten sections.
Three local sidecar title crews – Andy Scrivens and Martin Lawford, Dave Tuck and Steve Chandler, and Steve Radford and Mike Redston – will be spending the weekend in Shropshire for the sixth and seventh round of the National Championships at Burwaton.
They are second, third and fourth respectively in the intermediate championship, which is led by Daryl Dale and Hannah Etherington.
The second round of the British Solo Championship takes place at Aberdulais near Neath with much the same entry that contested the opening round in Devon recently.
With South West area champion Joe Baker expecting to become a father for the second time, Yeovil’s Ricky Wiggins is the only West representative.
The Red Bull Motocross Series gets under way today and tomorrow at the Landrake Moto Park near Saltash in Cornwall.
Regular local race winners Tommy Alba, Shane Carless and Kelvin Townsend will be among those competing.
