A CLOSE mother and daughter have become business partners to open a creche and nursery in Bridgwater.

Maxine Butler, 51, and daughter Samantha, 21, launched First Steps Creche and Nursery at Fothergill Business Park, Colley Lane, earlier this month.

The duo, who are fully trained, qualified in childcare and CRB-checked (as are all staff), offer care for children aged three months to five years for a few hours.

Maxine said: "We are delighted to see the business open after months of trying to get it off the ground.

"We look forward to working with each other as we are so close.

"From a young age Sam has yearned for a career working with children.

"She enjoys helping children grow and develop and loves the fact the new facility is open.

"I was a pre-school supervisor for many years and have worked in many childcare settings. I believe I am friendly and enjoy working with children as it is very rewarding."

The creche is now open, with the nursery available from September, and opening hours for both are Monday to Saturday from 8am until 6pm.

There is a car park and drop off point.

Child places are limited so booking early is advised.
