Mixed team on the up
The adult mixed summer team at Writhlington Tennis Club have earned promotion after an excellent season of close matches and hard-fought wins.
Led by captain James Brocksopp, the team topped their division in the Avon Mixed League, in which each match consists of a ladies', men's and mixed doubles rubber.
"The standard and quality of play from our members has been excellent," said Brocksopp. "The commitment from players making regular pairings has meant we have achieved some results which really should not have gone our way.
"We can now look forward to next summer and hopefully consolidating our promotion."
