NAILSEA B 100-4
FRENCHAY 82
NAILSEA batted first on the slow wicket at Frenchay, with Harry Tidball top scoring with 17, well supported by Ben Marshall (12) and Sam Richards (11).
However the hosts raced to 53-0 and it looked all over for Nailsea before Tidball claimed 4-5 with his left-arm spin, helped with wickets from Sam Bayliss, George King, Tom Cattermole and Marshall.
Nailsea had two run outs and won by 18 runs.
BEDMINSTER 141-4
NAILSEA B 131-4
BEDMINSTER scored quickly on a fast outfield and raced to 141, with Dan West top scoring with 49.
Two wickets from Harry Tidball and another from Lewis Jones helped Nailsea restrain the scoring.
In reply, James Cleeve hit 14 before Sam Richards (47) and Tidball (20no) shared a fourth-wicket stand of 86.
However, the total was just beyond Nailsea as they lost by 10 runs.
NAILSEA 172-2
CLAVERHAM 81-9
THE in-form Nailsea batsmen made life difficult for a weakened Claverham side.
Again a total of 150 was achieved, and apart from early difficult chances, Josh Dann (63no) and Liam Lester (50no) made rapid progress against an attack that generally lacked consistency.
Boundaries were a feature as fielders wilted in the heat. Both batsmen retired to allow Robbie Riddicks and David Isles to contribute 19 and 11 respectively.
Early wickets were taken as the Claverham batsmen struggled to mount a challenge in reply.
Wickets were taken by George King, Isles, Liam Hodges, Harry Tidball, Lester (2) and Dann (2) to ensure a comfortable victory.
LONG ASHTON 91-6
SHIREHAMPTON 92-0
MISSING two of their Somerset county players due to late illness calls, the Long Ashton youngsters were always going to struggle.
They elected to bat first and, facing some indifferent bowling, found runs from the bat hard to come by.
Peter Davies top-scored and was well supported by two under-11 players, Toby Baxter and George Durbin.
For Shirehampton, Gloucestershire under-13 player Angus More O'Ferrell took the lion's share of the bowling and then did the same with the bat in the reply.
Tom Fisher and Ed Moss were the pick of the bowlers as they did their best to stem the flow of runs, while in the field, Callum Powell, Jack Coates, Jasper Scofield and Tom Weaver stopped potential boundaries.
Jamie Bassett's wicketkeeping was excellent and he was disappointed to be turned down when appealing for an edge off Daniel Caie's pace bowling.
The visitors won with relative ease, with Thomas Marks also unbeaten.
