A CAT who went missing for nine weeks has returned to his Portishead home - in time for Christmas.

Laura Haskins, of Portishead, was concerned her seven-year-old cat Giles, may have been taken, when he disappeared in October, following a spate of cats disappearing in the town.

He had never been away from home for longer than a day.

But on Saturday morning, nine weeks to the day that he went missing, and after giving up all hope he would return, Laura opened her front door to see her cat sitting outside.

She said: "It is a wonderful Christmas present to have him home.

"He was hungry and now won't leave us alone or go out very far, but he is healthy, so I am very happy."
