Midsomer Norton's Merriman Theatre Group scoops NODA South West Award for Jesus Christ Superstar
Merriman Theatre Group scooped the NODA South West District Achievement Award on Saturday evening.
Owen Stephens, Alice Graham and Jack Strawbridge, collected the award from Derek Grattidge, president of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, on behalf of the group and its production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Merriman were nominated for three other awards on the evening, which was attended by 254 people representing almost 80 societies from across the South West of the country.
They were nominated for best choreography and best youth production, both of which were won by Yeovil Youth Theatre's stunning production of Cats, and in the Best Musical Production where the award went to Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society's production of Sweeney Todd.
