Merlin's Afro Cuban Sensibility Weekend
October is Black History Month and The Merlin Theatre, Frome, will be transporting visitors to the warmth and colour of the Caribbean and West Africa during its Merlin's Afro Cuban Sensibility Weekend.
On Friday, October 11 at 7.45pm, there will be a Film and Food Night featuring three short films looking at the life, music and art of both Cuba and the Yoruba people of West Africa
Admission costs £12 ( or£5 without supper).
On Saturday, October 12, people can get their pulses racing in a Cuban Dance Workshop.

Led by Yolanda Perez, one of the most experienced dancers of Orisha dance in the UK, this workshop will look at body movement and basic steps and will be accompanied by traditional Bata drums and members of the London Lucumi choir.
The £20 workshop is at 3pm and runs for one hour and includes a ticket to the choir's evening performance. In the evening, from 7.45pm, there will be an evening of Afro Cuban music, when the London Lucumi Choir performs a repertoire of uplifting gospel music.
