The village of Mells will once again be magically transformed into an exciting and fun day out for the whole family with something for everyone on Monday, April 1 for its annual Daffodil Festival.

Last year the event raised in excess of £10,000 for a variety of local worthy causes including Mells Cricket Club and St Andrew's Church/Mells PCC.

Mells Daffodil Festival started in 1979 and is now a firm favourite in the region's calendar.

The main field will host a display of classic cars and stationary engines, along with refreshments to suit all tastes.

This year there will be an arena hosting many different traditional and unusual events – not to be missed.

There will also be the usual fairground rides and lots of other attractions .

The street is transformed by a colourful array of market stalls – more than 140 – selling tempting goodies from plants and flowers to jewellery and soft furnishings.

There is a children's play area with refreshments and ice cream available there.

The manor gardens are open for visitors while the 15th century St Andrew's Church will be open with bell ringers and the Frome Town Band will play in the grounds alongside other musical events will take place there.

The Mells cafe and Tithe barn will be also open providing welcome refreshment.
