Inconsistent Clevedon slipped to defeat at Sholing in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.

The home side took the lead five minutes before half-time through Byron Mason.

Clevedon went into the break on level terms, though, Adie Adams scoring from the penalty spot.

The hosts went back in front when Mason skewed a shot into the path of Lewis Fennemore, who scored. Sholing then pulled two goals clear when Kevin Brewster drove in a superb free-kick.

Clevedon pulled a goal back when Ben Murray headed in, but Lee Wort secured the points for the home side.

Clevedon are back in action tonight when they visit Mangotsfield in round one of the Red Insure Cup (7.45pm).
