Flames ripped through the ground and first floors and broke through the roof at the rear of the pub.
Firefighters wearing breathing sets entered the property because it was not known whether anyone was inside at the time.
All persons were later accounted for safe and well.
The blaze was extinguished using six main jets, two aerial ladder platforms, and one hose reel jet, backed by hydrants and the water carrier.
An investigation into the cause has been launched.
