Martyn Starnes: Yeovil Town scouting system identifies signings to strengthen squad
We were delighted to welcome our latest loan signings Jordan Cook and Vitalijs Maksimenko to the club this week.
Both players are with us for an initial month, with Cook arriving from Charlton Athletic and Latvian Maksimenko from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Manager Gary Johnson through his scouting system with brother Peter has been tracking certain players that we feel we need to strengthen our squad until the end of the season.
These two were identified and we have agreed to sign them so we can bolster our challenge for a top six place in npower League One.

For most of the rest of the season you are able to sign players at least on temporary deals but come the end of March the window closes completely.
You have to anticipate what you need for that important month of April – and possibly May – ahead of us. What we do not want to be is under-strength if we were to sustain a number of injuries during that period.
Byron Webster and Jamie McAllister are also on the brink of suspension for ten bookings, whilst one or two have been struggling with injury so those are the reasons why we have had to look at bringing in players.
It was strange not to have a game last weekend but the Swindon Town game had been re-arranged from the Saturday to Tuesday so it was a delay of three days on the game.
On Saturday we make the long trip to Carlisle United – our second mammoth npower League One journey in a fortnight.
All of our lads are used to travelling that distance. It is tough having to go to Cumbria after playing midweek but we have got to deal with it.
The players will come into the club and prepare today, travel up tomorrow and will hopefully be ready to put in a good performance at Carlisle on Saturday.
They were heavily beaten at the weekend so I am sure their manager will be looking for a response from their team but we have got to match that.
We are going to confront these sorts of matches up until the end of the season. We know we have got character in the team as we have seen it before, it is now just about applying it.
Last week the club announced an annual profit of more than £50,000 for the 2011-12 financial year. We are trying to work as best we can within our resources.
To register a third year in the black when economic conditions have been so difficult is something we are very proud of.
But it is not achieved easily, a lot of hard work goes in from a lot of people to pull that off.
