Marlie Packer and Kate Newton in line to represent England women
Two rugby club-mates from Yeovil and Sherborne are in line to represent England women this weekend.
Bristol flanker and former Ivel Barbarian Marlie Packer hopes to make her debut for England women’s sevens in the IRB World Series event that starts in the United States tomorrow.
Packer, who has won 18 caps for her country’s XV-strong team, made the switch to the smaller-sided format earlier this month.
Ex-Gryphon School pupil Kate Newton has been selected to play for England women in this weekend’s Six Nations clash against Scotland. The Bristol prop will earn just her third cap as England start the defence of their title at Esher RFC in Surrey.
