Police are searching a man who talked his way into an 84-year-old woman's Yeovil home and stole her handbag.

The woman saw a man in her garden, on Ilchester Road, around 5pm on Saturday and opened her back door to ask what he was doing there.

He told her he has being chased and had jumped into her garden to escape.

She let him walk through her house from the back to the front door. She later found her handbag had been stolen from the kitchen.
