MAGISTRATES want a report before sentencing a 43-year-old Dorchester man for 18 offences involving indecent child images.

Stephen Charles Green, of Icen Way, admitted the list of offences which date from between December 2008 and February 2009.

He will return to the Weymouth court to be sentenced on September 24. He is on bail until then with a condition that he does not access the internet.

There are 15 allegations of making still images, one of making a moving image and two of possessing images.

Green was arrested in February 2009 and charged on July 27 this year.

Magistrates said the large number of images and the serious nature of some meant that Green could be facing prison. The mitigating factors were that these were all for his personal use and there was no financial gain and that Green had a previously clean record.

Green has been told that his conviction triggered a sex offender order and he would need to attend a police station to go on the register. The length of the order will be determined by the court.
