Man convicted of assaults had case adjourned
A MAN convicted of assaults upon a man and a woman at Shepton Mallet has had the case against him adjourned until next month for sentence.
Nicholas Paul Brooks, aged 41, of Crocker Way, Wincanton, appeared before Somerset Magistrates sitting at Yeovil.
He had previously been convicted following a trial of assaulting Samantha Douel and Stephen Wilkinson by beating them during the incident on April 14.
The case had been adjourned for a pre sentence report to be prepared by the probation service but the court was told that the defendant had not yet been given an appointment.

The magistrates agreed a further adjournment in the case and ordered Brooks to return to the court on Tuesday September 17. In the meantime he was released on conditional bail.
